My favorite place is Exuma, Bahamas! The first time I went to the Bahamas was about a couple of years ago. Ever since that first trip, the Bahamas has been my go-to place. One thing I love is that it doesn't feel like a tourist attraction. When we go, my family and I stay in a house and take a boat to local restaurants and bars. We even take rides out to little islands, it is so relaxing and beautiful. The sun is always out and the water is so clear you can see your feet underneath you!

ReplyDeleteWow, what a great trip that must have been! What stands out to me most is the water -- it's so blue that it almost doesn't even look real! Plus, how neat that you guys are able to experience it through the local attractions and amenities. A tourist-y resort can be nice, but this sounds like it gives you a more authentic flavor.
Oh my gosh, those pictures are magical, Madee, especially that last one: wow! And there are also some beautiful storytelling traditions from the Caribbean if that is something you are interested in (it is a big interest of mine because I am fascinated by the African folktales that took on new forms in the Americas, including in the Caribbean). ReplyDeleteWow, those photos are simply incredible! I have always wanted to go to someplace like the Bahamas but have not yet had the opportunity, unfortunately! It really looks like paradise on earth--that water is so clear and blue! I have only seen the ocean a few times, all in Florida, and definitely want to see it a few more times before I get settled down someplace far from the coast (like Oklahoma :). I would burn to a crisp on those beaches, though!

Hey Madee! Wow these pictures look amazing! The water is so blue it just seems impossible that it is naturally occurring! I have never been to the Bahamas but, especially after seeing the beautiful beaches, I definitely want to! I went parasailing one time on a beach and it was incredible, I can't imagine parasailing there in the Bahamas! It would be very cool, ehh, actually it might be pretty hot! haha
